Ian's Race Review for Tipsters |
| Welcome! Each week I will present for your interpretation an outline which helps you to understand the finer points of these motorsport codes. These are to be used as a guide only when placing your tips on the Tipster's page, but they are also intended to be educational for those younger people (from 8 up to 85 years old) who are new to motorsport, and are just now beginning to see what all the excitement is about. Enjoy! And remember to offer any feedback you think is necessary by clicking here. |

| Someone said to me 2 months ago after Brazil that Michael Schumacher was history...my response back was " Never knock a champion " ...It would be easy for me to sit here and gloat at the present situation and have a go at that racenut who bagged a driver like Michael.Let me tell me I am not gloating and I picked Michael to win the championship before Melbourne only because of his past reputation.Yes he has the fastest car but it takes the team to deliver.Funny isn't how in 1998 and 99 how nobody complained about McLaren winning and in 1996 when Schumacher has 11 DNF's ?.I have been to Europe twice and let me tell you it's a different ball game to Australia. From Fans to weather to atmosphere and to surfaces.Michael is good in Melbourne and Brazil but he is " GREAT " in Europe and knows the conditions.Formula One has been exciting this year and I like some of the new rules.I hate the fact that you cannot work on the car because here at RaceNutz this is what we promote on our simulators and try to teach the arcaders that driving a race car is all about set up and attitude.F1 has always had the reputation of 20 mechanics and technical men hanging around the car on the grid checking this and adjusting that and this is what makes it so exciting and now this pleasure is gone.I miss that greatly.Yes have the one lap dash and have the fuel set but GOD'S Sake let's let them adjust the car to suit the greatest Motorsport in th world and the pinacle of all what the others want to be part of.Formula One...Sunday nights are worth lookign forward too. | |

| " THE TIDE IS TURNING " ....Ford is back and I think the five years of where Holden had the advantage of those better suspension packages and wing adjustment is starting to change. How good is it not to see those Red Cars on the podium.I loved seeing those miserable HRT Fans gasping in the grandstand and holding their heads in their hands where no o ne could see them.Music to my ears and goodness to my soul not because I am in favour of Ford or Holden but just for the change..it's a welcome light to a dark 5 years. They finally have listened to what I have been saying for 7 years " Bring back Endurance " See this is why I like Nascar because it makes the difference between real drivers and the weak.Sprint Racing is boring in my view and Endurance is the key.It brings out the best in the drivers ability, car,Pit stops,Pit crew,Radio commands and decisions and most of all the driver that can nurse the car to the end and look after tyres. When it's Boring sprint racing then any " hoon " can get into a V8 and race it 15 laps. But only a man of courage and fitness and knowledge of race cars can go the distance.Endurance is the key and this is where I believe Mark Skaife will suffer this year because I don't think he is an Endurance driver and will struggle." THE TIDE IS TURNING " Lookout Holden the Henry is coming and I have started to watch it again and enjoying it.Well done V8 Supercars you have restored my faith in your sport and I will stop calling it V8 Boring Cars and calling it V8 Endurance Cars...A real race name of a real sport. | |
